Full title, which is too long to submit: Orlando urges reduced water usage as liquid oxygen used to purify water goes to COVID patients
> In an interview with the People's Daily overseas edition's new media platform Xiakedao on Monday, a scholar joked about cutting off the water supply to Hong Kong.
> Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer asked residents to immediately stop watering their lawns, washing their cars and using pressure washers. Landscape irrigation consumes about 40% of the water provided by OUC.

Isn’t this like asking people to get vaccinated?

He doesn't necessarily have the legal authority to require anyone to reduce their water usage without additional legislation, so he's doing what he can do and asking. That seems like a rational thing for him to do in my mind. Do you not think so?
They can’t change the price of water if supply gets cut?
Isn't that another case of asking people to reduce rather than requiring it?
They use literally any excuse to get that shot into people, including bribes. I just ignore all of it. It's obvious bullshit.
Yeah, there is something weird about that vaccine - before I had it I thought people where stupid not to get vaccinated, since I've had it I'm entirely sick of the utter cretins.

Could just be a case of post hoc ergo propter hoc though.

Another self-nominated candidate for a Darwin Award.

(On further reflection: I guess all Darwin Award candidates are self-nominated ....)

Yes, and by asking people to get vaccinated more than 50% of the population did it.

Lets not start pretending that fascism is the only viable path simply because they are the only ones who achieve 100% compliance through killing everyone who steps out of line.

Tragedy of the Commons like recycling contamination, opt-in vaccination, littering, or well water depletion. Asking a group of Americans to what's necessary never works because they don't care, are too clueless, too self-absorbed, or too dumb to follow directions. If it were Japan or Singapore, we wouldn't even have this discussion. American "excellence" in failure.
