Hey HN! I wanted to share a little Slack app I built to help my team and I reduce meetings and make better decisions remotely. It's called The Decider (https://thedecider.io).

As a remote team, we use Slack for most of our day-to-day communication and decision making. Unfortunately, with so much going on, channels often get too noisy for focused conversation. When we use threads, the progress and final decision often get lost.

For a while, we manually created breakout channels for every sub-discussion, but that was a pain.

We built The Decider as an easier way to enable these kinds of conversations, e.g. "Where should we go for lunch today?". It automatically opens up a temporary subchannel and invites whoever you choose. Members can propose options, discuss them in the channel, and vote among them. When you've made a decision, you can automatically close the subchannel, and report the results back to the parent channel.

Check it out and let us know what you think!
