Temporary ultralight website for Nola.com during Hurricane Ida aftermath (nola.com)

I thought HN would appreciate this for a news website trying to rapidly adjust to poor mobile phone service across the state of Louisiana.

I’d love to see more ultralight websites, not only for emergencies but because they focus on content.

Maybe that’s why I’ve been enjoying so much the Gemini space so much lately.

I love the intention here, but feel they should have gone further by removing much of the JS + tracking.

This site only scores 20 on Page Speed Insights mobile, and 651 out of 806kb transferred is JS (80%).
