Even this very first paragraph is disingenious. Yes, some who have refused vaccination claim as much. And also some people who haven't refused vaccination. There's no reason for this second sentence other then to imply that only people who have refused vaccination claim that vaccine mandates violate civil liberties. But I've heard many people say that they got vaccinated, they think everyone should be vaccinated, but they don't want people to be forced to.
I disagree profoundly. Not from the US, but I think this isn't the only topic where the ACLU has been slacking off lately.
Not even going into the low quality of the argument where terms like "equity concerns" apparently don't even need a definition.
Bodily autonomy is very important for civil liberties and invasions cannot be justified with the safety of others. Those need to take precautions if they need additional protection.
Again, Covid is serious, but not that deadly that this discussion is of much merrit.
edit: I am vaccinated, the fact that allegedly only unvaccinated argue against mandatory vaccination is completely dishonest, it is a majority position even.
There is also the issue that natural immunity seems to be vastly superior to vaccination. What about these cases? It is blatantly unethical to force unnecessary medical procedures. Their argument is completely random.

If you are going to link to a survey, at least make it a credible one that has the vigor from an independent organization. USAToday is not in a position to conduct surveys in any meaningful manner, given that their writers, editors and readership are an echo chamber at this point.
We need some organization to take the place of the old ACLU. I guess we still have the EFF, but they seem to be losing all the battles they’ve taken on. Maybe we aren’t concerned as a society with actual civil rights anymore, having become possessed by political rage and fear. To me this is a concerning development.
