US, strongly doubt we will ban it unless there is some major event. However, expect we will strongly regulate it and soon.
Yes, if they had to ban it they would have done it by now. I guess only heavy taxation on gains can be expected. Do people in US have to pay taxes on Crypto gains currently?
I think countries are more likely to eventually all have their own 'native' coin.
So once they have their native coins, will they ban popular crypto currencies?
They may try but they will fail because CBDC's are inferior money when compared to undebasebable and private non state controlled alternatives.
Will people use something that is banned though?
Yes. Stopping the state from debasing your nestegg/savings using a banned money is a risk people will consider worth taking.
No, they'll just continue to tax and (increasingly) regulate the exchange of crypto-currencies.
