If anyone knows, why were the tsunami height estimates off so much? The actual heights were 2-4x larger than anticipated.

In short, the prediction models were only designed for the most common tsunami sizes, and didn't even try to predict larger ones. This has now been changed.
Does anyone know why there are so many sensors in Alaska? Looks like it has more than the rest of the country combined.
It's part of the ring of fire, so I'd expect it to have a lot.
