Ask HN: Are big tech companies still sponsoring H1B visas?

Hey HN,

I just got an email from Google stating that G would be unable to secure myself, an European, a working visa.

This is before any interview.

I am wondering if big tech have just stopped offering H1B, if it is just Google, or maybe the period of the year which is bad.

Any of you got any insight?
