Ask HN: R U OK?

8 points by radicalriddler ↗ HN
It's R U OK day here in Australia (charity led awareness day). I would like to extend this to the rest of the Hacker News community, for what has been another tough 12 months.

If you have anyone in your life who you think may be struggling, I hope you can find resources at https://www.ruok.org.au to help them. A conversation can change a life.

Australia is not ok, that's for sure.
R U OK is a time for individuals to open up about their struggles with mental health.

R U OK? Are you struggling with some of the lockdowns that are occurring in some states of Australia?

Mildly struggling with procrastination. I want to become a better developer who can contribute to Open Source projects but to be honest my inaction is likely the only thing in the way. This turns inward and I start disliking myself the more I think about my laziness.
I feel the same way. I go and check out some repository, go to the issues board, and find a half decent issue, but then League of Legends calls my name from the Desktop.
Nope. I’m sick and tired of failing at everything I try.

I'm OK, thanks for asking. I have a few issues, like many people, but I was just out walking in the sunshine and thinking how grateful I am for various things. Now I'm back on a Teams call...but still it could be worse :-)
