>high levels of radiation were recorded by family members of personnel in Guangzhou using commercially available equipment. "The needle went off the top of the available readings." But she says the State Department told its own employees that the measurements they had taken off their own back were classified.
Since this seems to be occurring only on US territories I think it may actually be some US installed device from some defence contractor that is "malfunctioning". Maybe some device to find listening devices or a device to block eavesdropping? More expensive wifi setups can aggressive suppress "rouge" access points. A stingray is probably also not very healthy to be around as it has to overpower any cell tower near by.
I'm inclined to think its the Russians deliberately messing with US intelligence and the like. I'm surprised the US isn't more actively countering it. Like they should install more measuring equipment and try to find the source instead of covering things up.
Maybe the US is. Perhaps they already know, and are working on a big counter-offensive, but waiting for the right time to deploy it.
When you're this deep into national security, it is best to assume the story you are hearing is a lie, most likely of omission.
Note that I'm not saying this is the case, but likely there is much we do not know. If you're interested in this, I'd recommend two things - the first is a book [0] written by a practitioner in the field of counterintelligence; the second, a rather violent, but extremely provoking movie [1]
I agree. There are instances of this syndrome all over the world. The common denominator is the presence of US Government employees.
I call it as 'workplace injuries'. But the Government is more willing to blame 'adversaries' than admit any liability to millions of dollars in Workers' Compensation Claims.
And besides that they already know which nation state is behind those microwave attacks. They just choose not to publish it, which is fine. Just don't spread silly allegations.
"The report said the diplomats’ illnesses coincided with increased fumigation in and around residences where they lived. One of the authors of the study, the professor Alon Friedman, clarified in an email to Reuters that both Canadian and Cuban authorities were fumigating." - https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/sep/19/havana-syndrom...
I've found it curious that the embassy in Havana is surrounded by a tall iron fence with thick iron studs every meter. Is it conceivable that sounds like cricket sounds can be reverberating off of this fence and accentuating the sound waves?
That's not how acoustic resonance works, and if it did happen, it would be hard to not notice.
The whole "sonic weapon" thing is backwards reasoning where it was asssumed, because people heard things, that the sound was the cause, rather than a symptom.
who says they're not noticing it? The article states in certain terms that people would hear "Buzzing", "grinding metal", "piercing squeals" - sounds, clearly audible.

That'd be a first. The US Administrations are always extremely fast to blame somebody. Usually before any investigations are complete.
Down the track we'll find that it's due to Workplace Injuries.

Only joking off course, but how portable could this sort of equipment actually be?
