This guy built a 10 micron fab in his garage and has fabbed 1200 xtor die. That's bonkers. It is odd the article claims he's not using dangerous chemicals, but yet he's using nitric acid to etch. Wonder how he got all these parts and chemicals in highschool?
The article quotes him as saying “I also had to deal with a number of hazardous chemicals, like hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and a number of others.” You must be misreading something.
You're right, I totally misread the last sentence about "impure chemicals" and it stuck in my head.
Think there's a market for commercializing his techniques, akin to what happened with desktop 3D printing?
