> We’ve always had waves of new laws and tools for police and secret services. In the decade before 9/11, it was the war on drugs. Now it’s corona. It’s up and down, it’s ongoing. The so-called security apparatus always produces new narratives of fear conducive to expanding its powers, and 9/11 was one more crisis it tried to exploit.
Mind enlightening us on what vast new secret service/police laws/tools there are for corona?
The push to create contact tracing systems, for one. It's a boon for law enforcement. Attempts to create yet another national identifier (vaccine passports)... There's the big push for Central Bank Digital Currencies, which I'm assuming if executed upon will come with a matching spindown or deemphasis of physical currency, and the concomitant realization of nigh fully automated real-time financial surveillance.

I mean... It isn't the Patriot Act, but it's there.
