#3, democracy on the web works, still rings super true to me. but we've failed to stay web enough. our different sites have totalizing control, we havent teied to build a eobustly internetworked webful experience. the web has been steadily applicationized, colonized at scale, by old fashioned top down systems. i still think more web is the best cure for what ails the web now: disinformation, uncaring far off insensitive moderation, dogpiling, popularity contests. the web is a big enough place for mamy voices, and cersatile enough to help us all begin to weave maps of understanding, trust, & reason to co-surf with.
