I really respect how we have these little community pods like EuroBSDCon. Just tons of people in the same room sharing ideas they're passionate about.

Which platform are they using to host the online meeting, by the way? A quick skim doesn't say much, and those pictures are not friendly on my mobile data.

From the actual registration email:

"These links will only work while the conference is ongoing. At other times they will lead you to our website.

The conference itself uses BigBlueButton. In case of issues please try a different browser. We've had good luck with Chrome, but expect Safari and Firefox to work as well."

How do I watch this? I signed up, registered, etc. and then I click `Room 1` or `Room 2` and I just get sent back to the home page.
I tried too and the same thing happened. But it doesn't start until tonight (really the first talk is tomorrow) so maybe that is why?

Neat! Marshall Kirk McKusick is giving a talk. He’s the author of some books including one of my favorite books, The Design and Implementation of the FreeBSD Operating System, 2nd Edition (2014). I bought that book when it came out and I love it but I still haven’t finished reading the whole thing. Didn’t realize it was that many years ago since it came out.
Kirk gives great talks, I highly recommend him as a speaker. His talks about the history of BSD are amazing. I love the story about how a box of tapes containing the highly optimized Vax VMS context switch code fell off a truck that was driving past UCB, and they just had to open the box and look at what was on the tapes to find the proper owner..
