I wonder how do you expect to deal with a sky partially filled with smoke day and night maybe for months. One eruption in Lanzarote lasted for five years. Sounds like an interesting problem.

Yes, still going. We don't really expect a big impact, might change though. No official news yet.
We do the regular observations operations. So mostly sitting at computers, setting up what should be observed and keeping an eye on the systems and environmental conditions.

Warnings were there for a couple of weeks, but it was much faster than many expected.
Most were not expecting anything within weeks until yesterday...

I don't know for certain but if it's not really bad, we shouldn't be affected too much by the smoke.
