Google experiencing billing notification issue

Getting dozens of emails and push notifications from Google Ads, Cloud, etc. that there is an issue with the payment method stored.

Will update this post once an official message/post is published, but looking at https://twitter.com/search?q=google%20cloud%20billing&src=typed_query&f=live seems pretty widespread.

Looks like G Suite (or Workspaces or whatever it is called now) is experiencing this too.
Got multiple emails for a GSuite account. Was surprised to get the mails. Went in and updated the CVC code which for some reason had been cleared.
CVC codes are not allowed to be stored, ever.
There are many things which are not allowed. Trusting someone who mines all your data to not store one particular piece of this data is a bit naive.
It's a PCI compliance issue; Google would lose the ability to charge credit cards.
No, they simply could. Which is likely enough to get compliance from Google. (but regularly not, from other firms)

Bit like saying if a bank laundered money for the cartel and spookies they wouldn't be allowed to be a bank anymore.

That's how it's meant to work. Google, HSBC, et al are not like me and you. They've paid vast sums to ensure it.

Whew, glad it's not just me. I got an email threatening my Google account, and went in to the billing console to see a balance of $0.03. Three cents. The console won't even let you pay an amount that low!
I figured it was a system-wide issue when it said I'm #341 in the GCP chat support queue.
I assumed that was a normal chat queue and switched to an email ticket. XD
If you click into the support chat agent eventually you get this notice:

"Issues with 'Payment failed notification' is fully resolved On September 22, 2021, you may have received a ‘payment failed notification’ indicating that your payment information was invalid and required updating.

"This issue has now been mitigated and there is no action required from you."
