What's the difference between an algorithmic camera and plain image processing / computer vision?
There would be no difference if you decide on the processing algorithm first and then generate images from an input. But in my mind image processing would also include post production of an image. Computer vision is a set of techniques that could be used in an algorithmic camera.
Virtual aperture synthetic focus was my obsession for a while... a series of photos are taken from slightly different positions of the same still subject. The images are then aligned using hugin into a virtual focal plane, then averaged into one output frame.

The net effect is that of a virtual lens the size of the grouping of photos. I had a lot of fun with it, but rage-quit the flickr account that had my best examples half a decade ago. 8(

Here's a few things I have posted in a flickr folder: https://flickr.com/photos/---mike---/albums/7215771858512354...

Very cool! Sorry you lost your Flickr data.
