An unpaid intern at a hot tech startup with a great free lunch menu
Bingo. I too had a unpaid internship.
Was a great learning experience for me. Looking back, I would've paid to do the job as well
I was earning 250$ a month as an average programmer. I was working with some Java, Commute was 40miles everyday. Since I wasn't able to afford an apartment. I had signed contract with them that I won't quit... yeah 24 year old me was an idiot.
Hope that contract proved to be beneficial to you.
$7/hr as a dishwasher in 2000
Amazing! What lessons you learnt about saving money?
$1.88 / hr as a window washer for a paper company. This was in 1963, the company had five mills and a window washing crew of 6 high school students on summer break.
I wasn't born then. But really inspiring atleast to me to work hard. Thanks for answering.
$10/hr as a teaching assistant at Sylvan Learning Center in 1998...my first job as a high school grad the summer before college.
Wow. How much a total you had made? Does you still teach students or landed up in other profession?
That was just my first summer job...I taught test preparation classes at Kaplan during college and became a manager before switching careers to software engineering
When I was 13 or so I started a computer repair company for people in my town and local businesses. I didn't keep very good track of how much I made but I would guess it was around $2k a month. Couldn't beat the money and freedom as a kid.
Wow mind-blowing. My first earning was around 1$ when I was 10 or 12 years old. Inspiring though.
