This is actually interesting because even though starlink satellites are far less precise than GPS, they are numerous. Which means that they are always visible if you have even a tiny spot of clean sky in any direction. Might come handy navigating in narrow streets and similar conditions.
They're also bidirectoinal, which means SpaceX can locate me at all times. GPS sats are just flying around broadcasting their time and don't get a reply when a receiver picks it up.
They can only locate transmitters, not devices receiving their signals for precise positioning. This methodology is very similar to how precise point positioning works with GPS (where the carrier phase is used in concert with timing messages for higher precision).
