Sadly not too surprising and there are probably many that are reminded of their academic careers. Well, hopefully it isn't medicine.
At this point, if someone has that level of research output cited in that post, I just assume they're cheating.
The post has been deleted. Does anyone have a mirror or summary?
From the context of the comments it spins like the individual’s PI coerced or forced them to publish inaccurate or falsified data in order to have a paper accepted. That was about the best I could figure.
