[–] kuczmama 4y ago ↗ These aren't bitcoin hacks. I would consider these bitcoin ecosystem hacks. [–] [dead] Konstruct 4y ago ↗ I think a more descriptive title would be "The Biggest Bitcoin Exchange Hacks" but billions of dollars in lost Bitcoin doesn't care about semantics.

[–] badrabbit 4y ago ↗ Is anything in crypto world history? I thought something had to be a few decades old to be considered historic. [–] maxerickson 4y ago ↗ Why? Yesterday is history. [–] [deleted] 4y ago ↗ (comment deleted) [–] uncletammy 4y ago ↗ It is worth noting that one year in crypto is probably equal to 10 years in most other industries. At least with respect to the rate of technological and intra-cultural changes.

[–] dtagames 4y ago ↗ This story is false on the surface. The bitcoin blockchain has never been hacked, altered, or exploited in any way.Never.It is always possible to get someone's key (if they still have it). That is not hacking. That is social or legal engineering.
[–] nemo1618 4y ago ↗ Arguably the biggest "hack" in Bitcoin history was the exploit of an overflow bug, allowing for the creation of 184 billion BTC: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Value_overflow_incidentIt is also arguable, however, that this is not part of Bitcoin's history at all. :)
[–] uncletammy 4y ago ↗ This list fails to include the biggest, most important hack. The one where they stole the BTC ticker:https://old.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3h9cq4/its_time_fo...
