This is the remake of the program PYOBD. It works on Python3 and all new libraries. It was tested on Linux, Windows, and it should work on MAC too. You just need an ELM327 USB or bluetooth device and a PC(laptop preferably).
Awesome. What’s the difference between an OBD interface and what the dealers can look at? Last I examined this, you needed to buy expensive devices to interpret all data. Any efforts to do this on a manufacturer by manufacturer basis?
OBD allows only for reading standarized parameters and errors, manufacturer protocol is required for everything else (more parameters, changing settings, etc.). You can use J2534 universal interface, which I think manufacturers are required by law to support, but you still have to pay for their software.
