Compilers for Contrarians (crypto.stanford.edu)

This looks like an interesting series of posts about development of compilers and exploring haskell.

Does it run exclusively in the browser, or does it communicate with a server to compile the code?

Does anybody know more about this, e.g. which features? I suspect threading is among them.
