Depending on the weather and the distance, a scooter (unfortunately petrol), a bio-bike or an e-bike. Berlin is not that friendly to cars when commuting within city limits so I don't own one.
A 2001 Chevy Suburban. It's ancient with something like 300,000 miles, but it gets the job done. Bought it used for $3k a couple of years ago. That's my pattern: I don't buy brand new cars... I buy something cheap, and "drive it until the wheels fall off".
I also own a Mazda RX-8 (also bought used) but it's parked right now because it needs some work and I don't feel like putting the money into it right now. I do really love that car though.
Bicycle wise, I ride either a 2006 Specialized Hard Rock for mountain biking, or a 2014'ish Giant Defy for road biking.
Felt F5 with a Burly Honey Bee, my 1yo included, behind. My Lady on an Orbea, my 3yo on his Cleary Gecko unless it’s a longer ride.
This setup handles a lot, park trips, grocery runs.
But alas we’re in the Carolinas and use cars once or twice a week. Subaru Forrester for air conditioning, and an old Chevy crew cab truck for working the bees.
In a miles to miles comparison, a truck is terrible for commuting, but thankfully that isn’t happening. For projects and camping the truck is really great to have.
