A US centric analysis which is probably irrelevant. In Dec 2001 China was admitted to the WTO and a boom in exports followed which still holds, transforming it to an economic superpower.

Choose MAX time period on the first diagram [0], you can see the bend early 2000s which was far from a projection of the 90s

The currency manipulation, still ongoing, which enables China to be artificially competitive to the point where it threatened US economic health in the manufacturing regions and aided the rise of Trump etc, all make a US centric analysis very relevant to the US. NBC is a US news agency after all.

This is also common in US centric analysis. China was through these twenty years on the currency manipulation monitoring list and not on the actual currency manipulator list regardless of the (government sanctioned) media rhetoric.

In 2019 Trump placed China abruptly in the US list but had to remove it a few months later. The IMF which is internationally the only organisation to decide on currency manipulator countries has not done so for China (by international law WTO has to accept IMF decisions on that) Currently China is not in the currency manipulators list and is not expected to be in the near future. Also currency manipulation is not per se illegal internationally such as e.g. stock manipulation but US has its own law, don’t know for other countries.

In any case, when US based on that attempted a trade war with China it was not supported internationally either from IMF or individual countries so the whole thing was backtracked.

China not only did not help trump, but during the mini trade war they taxed US that hurt goods mainly produced in Trump’s states. So if somebody was purposely assisted from China in an election that was not Trump.

I highly recommend a book on the topic of China's point of view on the world and USA in particular: The Hundred Year Marathon, by Michael Pilsbury. It is a very exciting and thought provoking view of America, from China's perspective.
This is not true. It’s because rich people wanted to offshore there work for more money.
The U.S. defeated one octopus arm of the Communist Party stretching the tentacle from the U.S.S.R. but is being defeated by the China Communist Party appealing to the International Community proxies embedded as if meta in the deepstate apparatuses.
