The initial few paragraphs are dense and wordy, but once the author gets past introducing their frame of reference, the $4000 words drop off and the writing is much clearer and the article becomes readable. It's worth getting past the entrance paragraphs, as there are some worthwhile strong points being made.
I think people aren't diagnosing things at a deep enough level. All the real problems in the human world are with humans. 26 centuries ago, a very insightful guy figured out that we misbehave because of unmitigated suffering, that we suffer because we crave, and provided a method of training ourselves not to crave. To me, that's the real prescription. Talking about fiddling around with the institutions is like trimming the leaves of a tree when we need to be making changes at the roots.
