Said it many times before, but the moment they stop supporting old.reddit is the moment I'll stop using Reddit altogether, the redesign is abysmal.
I already stopped using Reddit on my phone ever since they started randomly (almost always) denying access to most of the site without using the app. There are obviously ways around this, like i.reddit, but I noticed that honestly I just can't be bothered.
I think they are also denying access to the site if you don't have an account. Or maybe that's always been a thing. Sent a Reddit link to g/f the other day and she couldn't access unless she logged in or made an account.
Using the redesign while logged out is an abysmal experience, you can't even read all the comments. I get they want users to create an account and engage, but putting content behind a login screen as an incentive is lame.
the only real palletable way to use reddit is androids redditisfun where you can block stupid subreddits that span useless coin or gme stonks and other spammy garbage
I had affinity for some of the small vibrant subreddits I frequented, primarily around voice acting and audio engineering, but the new redesign and the relentless push to install the app has driven me away.
libreddit is only for passive consumption. You cannot login with your account, so there's no possibility to upvote, downvote, comment, save, subscribe, or otherwise interact in any way.
Not sure if this helps with filtering out subreddits but I highly recommend teddit.net. Just switched after the mobile experience became essentially unusable without the app.
Reddit, with its terrible interface design, frustrating dark patterns, aggressive censorship, and clique of high powered mods is just as toxic and bad for the Internet as Twitter. I don’t know how they have avoided the fate of Digg but I keep hoping for them to be replaced by something better.

I'm cool as long as the API still works, but they'll surely shut that down too.
By change I mean the function that used to block users no longer blocks users and is useless
So plain gives the HN feel to Reddit.
No JS front-ends:

This app is now called "rif is fun" due to a trademark licensing dispute.
