This is such a crazy achievement, I never even thought I’d see it happen at all because of the complex hardware. The PS3 is my favourite console and has some of the games I most cherish, like Demon’s Souls or MGS4. While I have two PS3s myself and own physical copies of all these games it’s so nice to see that there’s a path to preserving them, especially since the hardware does have its issues with longevity. The RPCS3 team and contributors deserve all the kudos in the world!
This is an amazing achievement, and it makes me very interested in trying it out now.

Interesting that Sony didn't hit them with a cease & desist?

Historical precedent wouldn’t be on Sony’s side. The Bleem! lawsuit in 1999 from (none other than) Sony was found in Bleem!’s favor. As long as the BIOS or any other copyrighted code isn’t included, Sony wouldn’t have a leg to stand on. PCSX2 for example requires you to provide your own copy of the BIOS that you would (supposedly) get from your own console.

I didn't expect them to finish this milestone fast. But they did it. I believe that Sony will probably make a move in regards to this achievement.
