I was disappointed, because actual Hydraulic RAM does exist https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delay_line_memory (using Wikipedia's own definition of Hydraulics as "involving the mechanical properties and use of liquids").
My thesis advisor - some years ago - worked on one of these systems, CSIRAC, many years earlier when he himself was a student.
