Ask HN: How do you recruit a recruiter?

I just completed a rollup for one of my clients and one of the key components to their success will be a recruiter that can create a talent pipeline for them - without it, they will be up the creek.

Beyond the usual "ask for referrals/make a job post and share it around" does HN have any pro tips for finding a quality recruiter? Is there a place that recruiters - especially tech recruiters - congregate or otherwise share information?
