Good luck if you are living in Hong Kong where TikTok was once operating there and now after 'recent events' you HAVE to use Douyin instead.

That is tough.

I’m unfamiliar with some of the differences between using an ESIM versus regular SIM card.

Is there something about ESIMs in particular that allows this type of blocking, or am I just reading too much into the title?

This might be why classic sim cards are already superior.
