Ask HN: Does hiding the pricing help with customer takeup?

There's a common approach to landing pages which involves an invitation to "Start Now!" but any mention of pricing is obscured.

Whenever I see this it actually pisses me off and makes me less likely to engage.

Anyone out there who's A/B'd these things and can talk to the business benefits of putting off any mention of price ?

I agree, like a warmed up mousetrap gets the mice in and then the bait...
Personally I don’t have time to jerk around for a day with something I won’t be able to afford.
