Regardless of your opinion on the merits of the idea itself, this is a fairly staggering amount of hubris. I guess humility is a lot to ask from a century-old billionaire.
> Article doesn't say anything about ventilation in the interior either. The building sounds like a covid spreading hellhole.
Even aside from the spread of pathogens (not to mention molds, mildews, and fungus infestations), unless they are extremely careful about the materials that go into the rooms and their furnishings (ie. no cheap particle board or plywood bookshelves or desks allowed, not to mention scented air fresheners, candles, aerosols, perfumes, colognes, and cleaning products), the whole building is likely to come down with sick building syndrome:
It’s probably too late, but looking at the plans it seems like the residents will either have to avoid sex in their room for the duration or engage in more creative alternatives. If the boxes are not single gender, half of America will have vapours. Obviously, introverts go do other schools, or they mix the people in the box by workload?
Edit: and there’s one couch and a table - where the hell do people relax? In their box on the bed with a laptop? And any good stereo will incite riots.

It doesn't say anything about anything the resigning architect couldn't come up with a complaint about.
So, that's probably not a problem.
