I like how they gave a red carpet treatment, 60 minutes show, media interviews and congressional hearing to the Facebook "whistleblower" who sounded more like a plant advocating for more censorship. Or the "anonymous whistleblower" from couple years ago. I also like how the same politicians always cry about "threat to press freedom" based on mean comments or tweets.

But real whistleblowers like Snowden, Assange, Daniel Hale all get treated like dog crap and thrown in prison. Even the marine who spoke out about the Afghanistan debacle got prison. It's all such a facade.

Assange even contacted the state department warning them that an ex employee who was angry was going to release the files without redacting names and the state department ignored that warning. This phone call was released last year but didn't get reported by the corporate media. Now the politicians are claiming Assange somehow risked US personal lives...

There is no facade. More a misunderstanding of a simple rule in life - if the network of people who support you is weaker in influence and power, than the network of people who oppose you, you will get crucified for attacking the more powerful network.
Assange is a criminal. He's not a freedom fighter. He's not a member of any formal press agency. He's not even a seeker of truth. He's a distributor of stolen information. He now has the life he earned.
