GIST o-auths with google and is approved by them so not a "random website" - we're based in San Francisco, are privacy-focused, trying to bring awareness to how the things we buy impact the world around them. What do you mean by typical spending patterns?
Given the URL I was thinking that this would be hosted on a service that could run Github gists as single-page-apps. Unsurprisingly something like that actually kind of exists:
Seeing that China has trillions in reserves, I sense that the piddling little amount that people might give to China/CCP would make negligible difference.

I hope the site will eventually show some examples to mitigate that eerie feeling one gets from services that want access to our emails.
