What are some of the downsides and upsides of this metaverse future?

How will it affect work? Will people still go outside, or will we escape into all sorts of MMOs? Just curious to understand, because this is all kind of trippy to me.

Has secondlife changed the world permanently? Did people stop going outside and play it instead? First you'd need to show that FB is able to do something more interesting to normal people.

There’s a high likelihood that the dystopia of the social media world leaks into and consumes the real world as people use AR with glasses around town, real world locations turn on complimentary tech (is already bad with cameras everywhere and tracking in stores etc).

I think there’s a huge increase in ethics and privacy jobs on the horizon, and a ton of angst from the public.

Its disappointing to say the least that we’re working tech jobs during this era.
