The Most Detailed Map of Cancer-Causing Industrial Air Pollution in the U.S. (projects.propublica.org) 45 points by ozdave 4y ago ↗ HN
[–] Ancalagon 4y ago ↗ Does this map not include cancer risks near military facilities? I have a hard time believing the cancer risk in San Diego, CA is so low when there are military air bases all over the county, which use known cancer-causing agents as fire retardants. [–] missedthecue 4y ago ↗ How often are those agents deployed, and when they are deployed, how far does the wind take them, if at all? [–] jjtheblunt 4y ago ↗ maybe because san diego has fresh marine layer washing over it from the ocean continuously ?
