Thankfully it was just a drone with a copper wire and not a tree limb like in 2003. Those terrorist trees are what the FBI and DHS should be looking out for.

I believe this is probably the start of trying to make drones illegal for all but our protectors. Can't have any kind of flight tech in the hands of the plebs.

Surprised it's taken this long honestly. I assumed over a decade ago that gangs would use drones for drive-by's or at least tagging places impossible to clean without also using a drone to spray paint over it. I figured by now gangs and city governments would be in a drone arms race given how cheap and easy to pilot they are. When made illegal I would also assume they would use the proper assemble-yourself hobby drones that have no flight restrictions so that only us plebs can't use them.
There was that one presidential assassination attempt by drone, but it didn't succeed (and wasn't in the US.) It used a bomb, I guess since it's easier (don't have to add actuators for the trigger, or targeting or anything.)

Gun drones seem a lot more effective, though. They could hang out at a distance inconspicuously, up high, and fire on the target. Takes a lot more skill though.

DIY electronics and 3D printing will become as taboo as DIY chemistry, I fear.

This reads like an amateur with a grudge.
Any drone attack is going to have to work hard to beat PG&E at their own game
