I too have been pressed into the wall on salvia, that was the last time I did it. The earlier experiences were more interesting with fractal folding and meeting the “clockwork elves”
Same, my first time. Gravity went exactly 90 degrees, though I had no other effects that time. I can't wait for neuroscience and pharmacology to advance to the point where we understand the clockwork producing these effects.
Salvia is a pretty fascinating psychadelic. I wouldn’t call the effects pleasant, but I wouldn’t call it unpleasant either. If the high lasted longer it would be unpleasant as it can be quite strong.
For the record, salvia (or salvinorin A, the primary psychoactive ingredient) really isn't considered a psychedelic, which is traditionally held to mean substances that are primarily 5-HT2A agonists.
I tried it when I was 20. Got it mail-order in the US. Brought it to my work (I worked retail at the time) and a coworker and I went to a crawlspace in the stockroom and smoked it in a bong I had also brought with me. We felt nothing at first, then spontaneously started cracking up hysterically for at least a minute. It was like someone told us the funniest joke we'd ever heard.
Salvia is pretty crazy stuff, I tried it in my younger years, made the mistake of taking a hit - not feeling much and then taking a much bigger hit of much stronger stuff.
Needless to say - the pictures on my walls came alive, cars started driving around my room and at some point I was sure that I lived in New York (I live in the UK). The whole experience was absolutely hilarious, felt like it lasted hours - but was over in about 10 minutes.
I chalked it up to something that was fun - but something that I'm in no massive rush to try again. After speaking with friends about it - it would appear that whatever mood you are in gets massively amplified, so for anyone wanting to try, make sure you are in a good place mentally before smoking.
