It's been documented[0] pretty[1] well that they were aware of the risk and associated consequences. They misled their customers and the public.

Ok, we know they’ve been lying, and deep down we knew it whenever they were lying. Now what? Just another case of large entrenched interests screwing everybody else (in this case, essentially actually everybody else) that demonstrates futility in holding anyone accountable? Just another data point to support presumption of no credibility when businesspeople testify to Congress?
