I understand both sides - the one laughing, and the upset ones. It really would be interesting for what reasons they fired him.
And I also think it's quite possible to get a match for being a good fit to a vacant position, which has been shaped by oneself earlier - and with the offerer having realized and see the necessaty of adapting the vacant position's description/needs&wants to just like it was shaped by oneself earlier.
So if oneself have bring in a sophisticated workflow in development, the employer might want to have that further after firing the one for being jerkyfishmoledog.
A (digital native) recruiter doesn't know that. He/She should, but it's not tragic. To see that Special needing and linking both is the job. Not valuing and guessing which company might fit and which not - it's not like with the actors/agents/movies ... "Yeah that might fit to you, Tom..."
So I think it's a little bit a FAIL he shouldn't even have say yes to the interview. That would be a sovereign solution - no one pi*ed and the door isn't closed completely. Just a lifehack:
1. you're a number
2. One see each other twice in ones life
3. Never say ever.
