I work at Amazon and you would be surprised at how insanely terrible just everything about HR/Recruiting/Payroll is.
- Got paid double? They will argue with you that there is no mistake, then write back a month later asking you to repay.
- Changing work arrangement? They can't tell you the impact on your compensation, RSU, bonus, etc... They update your status and you just wait for everything to resolve. No they won't give you even an email about it so you'll learn that your RSU grant was taken back 2 months later when login into your Morgan Stanley account.
- Emailed payroll? Well that was the wrong payroll so they'll close your ticket and give you 0 information as to where your ticket should actually go.
- Gave a return offer to a great intern? They'll email you 3 months later to ask why they still haven't received anything for HR.
For a company that prides itself with being customer obsessed and that "everyone including the employees are customers" it's so deeply frustrating.
I used to work at Amazon. The internal processes are absolutely horrible for employees in almost every aspect (tech, HR, recruiting, etc). Looks like not much has changed.

Support for issues is non-existent. It's just random people overseas copy pasting irrelevant shit into the ticket and closing it without reading.
We generate several million $ worth of fees for Amazon every year.
You would think that could buy a couple of hours of competent support a year for us, but apparently not.
