Why HN is removing articles that ask about HN policy?

For example this one: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=29289875

I would think that if this is such a hot topic that many people are trying to address but does not fit well for HN, then it would only benefit to explain why it is so instead of keeping people in dark.

Besides I find many removed articles are talking about issues with the social media which relates to tech industry in general.

If I want to read general news there are plenty of feeds for that. I think some great articles covering non-tech topics deserve to be on the front page, but stuff like you posted does not seem that remarkable.

also note that this is a very US centric view, I'm living in Europe and I have not heard much about this trial, nor am I extremely interested day-to-day politics in the US. Again plenty of great places to read and talk about north American politics, HN is more than that.

Something is off. I personally haven't posted anything. This would be a nice response to this question: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=29289875

I will only add that big tech companies (Facebook, Twitter) are global and discussing them is expected on HN.

Quality conversation on this topic is impossible in large groups.

So it has no place here.

... there is lots of explanation in the link?
