My father in law from China came and plug in a TV device to the home wifi.
I work in Big Tech remotely, should I be worried. Remote device is an Android box for streaming channels
Your network can be compromised if the device is connected to the same network as other devices. However, most modern routers support a guest WiFi, which may be a good fit here.
In the previous company I worked for we provided alternative laptops when traveled to China, as it is enough to connect to a hot spot to get infected.
With that said, if your father in law has other devices, worth connecting them to the guest network as well.

Better yet, run a separate network device and VLAN for untrusted devices.
