That’s fun to see on here. I started to play parser based if about 2-3 weeks ago and wrote a little infocon-style parser engine as a hobby project last week.
The genre is unbelievably stimulating, I had no idea. I strongly recommend the old classics Galatea and Anchorhead if you have never played these before, they are some of the best games I played in the last 2 years
It's good to see that traditional parser-based interactive fiction (Infocom-style) are holding their own for the top winners. For a while it looked like those were going extinct and that "choice-based" (think the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books that GenX and older Millennials may remember from their youth) systems like Twine were going to take over the entire field.
