Ask HN: I have a page on Facebook, how can I delete my personal profile?

I would like to turn off my personal Facebook account. I only use it to chat with a friend but I can contact him over other platforms. However, I manage a few pages on Facebook (business and hobbies) that I can't abandon, unfortunately. What's the best course of action I can take?

I've been thinking in creating a different profile, set that profile as admin of the pages, and then delete my account. Would that be a bad or good idea? I am not sure if it goes against Facebook TOS and I would be in a big problem if I lose any of the pages I am an admin.

Facebook requires you to have max. one profile using your real name and contact details. You won't gain anything by making a new one, and you might actually find it impossible to do (they recently upgraded their multi-account/fake ID detection). Even if you succeed, you'll risk losing access any day.

Since no one replied to this submission I thought "what the heck" and I created a new Facebook account using a nickname + surname, and then I started adding that new account as an admin on the pages I handle. Facebook didn't require anything special for this new account, only an email address. Is that weird?

Normal. The checks are on background. The account - given you have a second one - will most likely be deactivated in a week or two and you won't be able to unlock it without ID and phone. Accounts with nickname but otherwise real seem to be given a silent pass - but they will use the fact to close your account as soon as they need to kick you fast for whatever reason.
