I love seeing these, they take me back to a very specific time in my life.
Personal favourite would be MacDraw. :)
These are prettier but back in the day I used to prefer the About Boxes on Acorn RiscOS[1] because they had to contain a summary of what any given application did as part of the OS UI rules.
That's not really important for something big like Aldus PageMaker as you've probably already heard of it but for obscure utilities and the like it was really handy.
"Name, Purpose, Author, Version" -- succinct and reassuringly uniform.
One thing I recently realised is that RISC OS file specifications were very close to URL format. Had they used forward slash (and not dot) as a directory separator they would have been almost there! :-) (and interacted so much easier with the outside world)
Imagine having to write C/C++ where .cpp and .hpp files lived in separate directories! Ah, early 90s RISC OS.
Yes, I have my original Mac Plus, a few SE's, an SE/30, some Mac IIx's and others I have rescued over the years. I think it may be time to dig them out, set up good 'ol Apple Talk and fire up NetTrek on them.
That and the bats in Dark Castle - drove my parents crazy playing that game back in the day too :)
