1) Electric cars can ultimately be powered directly by solar or hydro solutions which do not require a conversion into another element and back, even if they are largely not powered in that way today.
2) Establishing a hydrogen distribution network throughout the world is a complete nightmare compared with using the electric power networks which already exist virtually everywhere.
3) Electric cars that carry large batteries carry a serious but known and manageable flammability risk, while cars that carry tanks of hydrogen carry a greater and more unpredictable risk that is far more difficult to manage.
1) Fuel cells are batteries too. This is no different chemically speaking.
2) It will be cheaper than what it would take to overhaul the grid. The problem is that we must get rid of all fossil fuels while also radically increasing capacity. A near impossibility by any reasonable estimation.
3) Hydrogen are safer than batteries. There is no substantial risk and it is trivial to manage. Meanwhile many people have died in battery fires.
