Is it just me, or does this data set seem like a good target for second order extortion? Anyone know of examples where a data leak resulted in direct threats to those whose data was obtained?
Yep. It probably will either be torrented or sold on the black market. That is what I expect to happen with my health data in general (I have never had an abortion or have been a Planned Parenthood patient. I am female, though.). I have 2 rare immune-mediated neurological diseases affecting my peripheral nervous system, and I am on an orphan drug, so I am extremely expensive.
