Ask HN: How do you get started with business illustrations?

I am trying to improve my communication skills and I realized one great way to do that is through custom illustrations.

But I have not drawn since I was in kindergarten. But I want to start illustrating ideas.

Have any done something like that? How did you get started? I looked around and a lot of videos are targeted at artists. Those courses seem like over kill.

Anyone know how to get started just visualizing ideas for a non designer without having to spend years learning how to draw?
