Amazing this sort of petulant whining gets past the editorial board these days. I guess less surprising when you consider the banality of the topic - an author for a failing magazine is trying to find meaning in a void but failing miserably. How about find work that is meaningful, that you'll care about a lot and will make a positive impact in the world? No, no, let's instead bemoan another year of misery in a crappy magazine instead. Grow up already.
Work is great, especially when you like it. But sometimes constant work is harmful. It is very important that in addition to your main job, you have a hobby, thanks to which you can recover and relax.
